HGV (Class 1) Mechanic

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Mechanic to maintain our commercial vehicle fleet.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on 8 MAN tractor units, curtainside trailers, and 2 curtainside vans
Diagnose and perform running repairs promptly to minimise downtime.
Maintain detailed records of all maintenance work
Ensure vehicles meet legal safety standards and comply with road transport legislation
Prepare vehicles for MOT
Collaborate with the office to schedule maintenance around operational needs.
Collect and drop off parts as needed
Assist with loading and unloading goods when required

Experience

Proven experience as a mechanic specialising in commercial vehicles.
Valid driver's license (HGV license ideal but not essential)
Proficiency with vehicle diagnostic tools and heavy-duty vehicle repair techniques
Own tools preferred (some provided)
Organized, detail-oriented, and committed to high standards

The Workplace

Our workshop is located inside a truckstop with ample space and facilities including a pit, wash bay, roller brake tester and clean toilets, showers, and canteen on site.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £35,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
