Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and reliable HGV Class 1 Driver tramper to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating flatbed trucks to transport produce across various locations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a family-oriented company committed to excellence in delivery and customer satisfaction. You will play a vital role in ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to safety regulations and company policies.

Duties

Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles with a focus on flatbed transportation of produce and goods
Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with legal standards
Drive efficiently across regional or national routes, following all traffic laws and safety procedures
Complete delivery documentation accurately and communicate effectively with dispatch teams
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any mechanical issues promptly
Adhere to hours-of-service regulations and company policies for safe driving practices

Requirements

Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving license with no more than six penalty points
Proven experience as a commercial driver
Delivery driver experience with knowledge of route planning and time management
Strong understanding of road safety regulations and vehicle maintenance procedures
Ability to secure loads properly on flatbed trailers using appropriate equipment
Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude on the road
Flexibility to undertake early starts, late finishes, or overnight stays as required

We have permanent vacancies for C+E drivers to join our busy operation at Huntapac Produce.

We are recruiting for full time drivers working a 5x shifts per week "tramping out" working shifts starting 01:00hrs to 03:00hrs

Shifts available are:

Wednesday to Sunday
Thursday to Monday
Friday to Tuesday
Saturday to Wednesday

The work involves palletised deliveries in refrigerated trailers (carrying multi temperature loads) to nationwide regional distribution centres (RDC). This will include some loading / unloading with a pallet truck and also bulker deliveries to and from farms. A rigorous induction and assessment programme will be performed with every potential candidate.

Basic Day (Monday-Friday) £15.00
Basic Night (Sunday-Thursday) £16.00
Weekend Day (Saturday and Sunday) £17.50
Weekend Night (Friday and Saturday) £18.50

£26.20 per night tramping premium paid

Services / parking paid.

A rigorous induction and assessment programme will be performed with every potential candidate. For all successful candidates full training and uniform will be provided, nights out and parking is paid.
