HGV Class 1 Driver Part time

Job Summary
We are a growing company seeking a 4th driver to join us initially on a part time basis but likely to grow into a full time position. We are looking for an experienced HGV driver to fulfil customer deliveries and supplier collections throughout UK mainland. Some nights out are required, manual handling may be required, good geo knowledge and experience of curtain sided trailers is required.

Working as part of a small dedicated team our drivers are vital to our business. There is always a need for professionalism and careful and considerate driving. The candidate must have a clear understanding of RTD & WTD regulations and a full DCPC, additional modules already in place is preferred. You would be our fourth driver.

Vehicles are fitted with 360 external cameras and tracking systems, we have a no smoking policy in all our company vehicles.

We are needed 2 full weeks (last week and first week of the month)

remaining weeks 2 days per week.

Ability to cover for any extra hours needed as the company grows and absence cover.

Any additional hours will be at the same rate of £14.80.

We can pay either weekly or monthly.

Duties

Operate and experience of DAF & Mercedes tractor units.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance. Both vehicle combinations and load security.
Load and unload cargo,
Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required. Using manual books and digital recording device
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the lorry.

Skills

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safety standards.
Ability to operate curtain side trailers safely and efficiently.
Excellent navigation skills with familiarity of local routes.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
Good communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
