Job Description

We arelooking for a Healthcare Assistant to join our team providing general practiceservices including; Phlebotomy, ECGs, wound care/simple dressings, AdministeringInjections such as Flu and Pneumonia, long term condition reviews, such asdiabetes, asthma, NHS Health checks, INRclinics, Learning disabilities, smoking cessation etc.

Please note that we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants will be required to demonstrate their right to work in the UK at interview.

Main duties of the job

All aspects of Healthcare assistantcare, with potential to develop skills in line with the needs of the businessand your personal interests

Other job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Under indirect supervision, assist in thedelivery of primary health care interventions and care effectively andefficiently
  • Prepare and maintain environments and equipmentbefore, during and after patient care interventions
  • Monitors and orders stock levels andequipment
  • Responsible for the security, care andmaintenance of equipment ensuring standards of infection control and safety aremaintained
  • Act as chaperone as required/instructed
  • Maintenance of accurate and legible patientrecords in line with organisational requirements this includes contemporarypaper records and electronic patient record system

Job responsibilities

The purpose of the post is to assist the GPs and nurse team in the delivery of safe, high quality primary care services to the practicepopulation. The post holder will undertake delegated tasks and duties under indirect supervision of members of the nurse team. The post holder will work within clear parameters and lines of accountability after appropriate training and assessment of competence. The requirements of the post are linked to theHealth Education England: District and General Practice Nursing ServiceEducation and Career Framework.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Basic English and Maths GCE level C and above (new grade 4 and above)
  • Ability to accept training, coaching and guidance (in prep for Care Certificate study)
  • Completed Care Certificate
  • Qualified to NVQ level 2
  • Other recognised forms of educational attainment
Experience
  • Previous healthcare experience in clinical role
  • Experience within a health care setting and/or primary care
