Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team at HMP Bullingdon - a Category B male remand and resettlement prison near Bicester. Work in a varied environment across primary care, mental health, substance misuse including emergency response, wings, clinics, health promotion and more.

Job Summary

Hours: full time, average 37.5 hours per week, shifts Monday-Sunday: (you must be prepared to work on all shifts). Salary: £27,543 - £31,789 per annum depending on experience. Golden Hello joining bonus: 6 months £500 / 12 months £1,000 / 24 months £1,000.

Main duties of the job
  • Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care.
  • Be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Qualifications required
  • NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care.
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good IT skills and IT literacy.
  • Ability to work within a busy environment.
  • Ability to work unsupervised while following policy and procedures.

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
