Overview

A Healthcare Assistant (HCA) provides support to patients and residents in various healthcare settings, working under the direction of nurses and other healthcare professionals. Their duties include assisting with personal care, monitoring vital signs, maintaining a clean environment, and documenting patient information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care: Assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Clinical Tasks: Taking vital signs under supervision, assisting with specimen collection, and other clinical duties.
  • Emotional Support: Engaging in conversation and promoting patient comfort and well being.
