We are looking for a Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to support the Health, Safety, Environmental and Facilities (HSEF) function to maintain compliance, reduce risk and build a positive health and safety culture throughout the business. To provide professional and practical H&S support to operational managers, team leaders etc across the business. Assist in maintaining and supporting the operation of the management systems for Health and Safety and Environmental Management, in line with BU objectives and certification aspirations (e.g. ISO 14001 and 45001). Location : Wimborne, UK Your Challenge: To assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of the company's health & safety management system in compliance with legislation and the businesses ISO certifications Work within the HSEF team and assist in delivering the business objectives and achieve KPI's To record and investigate accidents, incidents and near misses and coordinate remedial actions with various teams across the business To review training needs and support the delivery of training courses in line with the BMS, ensuring all matrices are up to date Actively engage with colleagues to promote positive safety behaviours through internal communications, company policies and toolbox talks Identify and assist in continuous improvement across the function Promote learning from incidents and near miss reports through reporting of remedial actions, implementing training and communication across the site Conduct and support risk assessment and COSHH assessments, implementing control measures to minimise the risks Carry out H&S inspections, assisting in audits and safety tours throughout the facilities General administration tasks related to the function Support the site management team on safety processes, changes as a result of an investigation, best practise and all general safety enquiries Support management in fostering a strong safety culture within the business What You Bring: Security contractual compliance will require incumbents to be a sole British National . IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent or working towards. Training can be given to support NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent level 3 qualification desirable. Competent with IT skills and used to using Microsoft Packages Experience supporting accident and near miss investigations Good working knowledge of UK H&S legislation and guidance Excellent organisation skills, able to work with autonomy and strong interpersonal and communication skills.Desirable: Experience working within a manufacturing industry Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (Tech IOSH) Member of the BIFM/IWFM Environmental Management Membership (IEMA) - Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) Who We Are Curtiss-Wright Wimborne, a Business Unit of Curtiss Wright, is a global engineering and design manufacture leader with just over six decades of experience designing for heavily regulated markets, such as nuclear, aerospace, oil and gas, and more.
