Job Description

At Sanderson Design Group, we are always looking for talented, ambitious and motivated people to join our team.

We're looking for a HSE Advisor to join us to ensure Health & Safety compliance across the Company. This is a hands on position, providing policy, technical and regulatory guidance to all site personnel in respect of health, safety and environment and providing assistance to group compliance regarding environmental monitoring and regulations.

Key Responsibilities.
  • Implementation of Company Health & Safety policies, procedures and strategies.
  • Maintenance, development & implementation of the Company's Health & Safety management systems.
  • Arranging timely completion of non compliance, complaint and near miss reports.
  • Managing and developing Health & Safety initiatives.
  • Promoting and developing employee participation and team based improvement activities.
  • Arranging and monitoring Health & Safety training.
  • Representing the Company in matters of Health, Safety & Environment, i.e. Policy, Strategy, management systems development, with Group, suppliers, external auditors, consultants and other relevant outside bodies.
  • Ensure the Company's targets in terms of Health, Safety and Environmental performance are achieved.
  • To work with Departmental Managers/Supervisors to improve Health, Safety & Environmental advise on setting targets, minimising accident frequency and industrial claims.
  • Provide assistance to the Technical & Compliance Managers in respect of environmental monitoring and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance to Engineering and sub contractors on CDM regulations.
  • Check and ensure sub contractors' PQQ and accreditations are in place.
  • Assist Engineering in project planning.
Measures of Success.
  • Operational effectiveness and maintenance of Health & Safety management standards to maintain and meet Company, industry and legal standards.
  • Improvement of standards to meet ISO 45001 Standards by July 2027.
  • Increase in employee involvement, reporting rate of near misses, non compliance, hazards and suggestions.
  • Accurately measure standards across the business.
  • Timely audits and investigation completion.
  • Accuracy and punctuality of reports and data.
  • Achievement of agreed Health & Safety targets.
  • Internal customer satisfaction.
  • Compliance with all site and legislative Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Completion of environmental tasks to required timescale.
  • Projects being delivered safely and on time.

Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 3 years' experience within a Health & Safety role within a technical manufacturing or engineering environment essential.
  • Experience of environmental management systems.
  • Experience of implementing or managing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

Qualifications
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
  • ISEP (IEMA) certificate in environmental management.
