Health Economics & Commissioning Consultant - NHS
We're supporting a leading consultancy delivering a major NHS transformation focused on commissioning reform, service redesign, and financial sustainability.
You'll work with ICS stakeholders and providers to design future operating and funding models that align cost, activity, and outcomes across health and care pathways.
This role will be a mixture of remote and travel to client site in the South East.
Key Responsibilities
Play a key role in shaping future commissioning and financial models that link population health, outcomes and cost - driving smarter, more sustainable NHS services.

You'll work with ICS stakeholders and providers to design future operating and funding models that align cost, activity, and outcomes across health and care pathways.
This role will be a mixture of remote and travel to client site in the South East.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead service review and financial modelling workstreams.
- Analyse cost-per-patient, efficiency and value for money to inform future service models.
- Redesign commissioning and incentive frameworks, aligning tariffs to population health outcomes.
- Link economic analysis and demand data to system-wide planning and investment decisions.
- Develop actionable insights and present recommendations to NHS and ICS leaders.
- Strong understanding of NHS finance, commissioning and tariff structures.
- Proven experience in health economics, costing or financial modelling.
- Track record in service redesign (ideally dementia, LTCs or community care).
- Confident working with ICS, provider and commissioner stakeholders.
- Advanced analytical and presentation skills (Excel, Power BI, or similar).
- Experience within ICSs or provider collaboratives.
- Knowledge of population health and value-based healthcare approaches.
