Inclusion and Wellbeing is our holistic approach to physical and psychological health and safety - addressing the unique risk factors in construction.
Expanded is a member of the Laing O'Rourke construction group. We are recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager to support multiple projects in Birmingham, Surrey, and Kent. The Expanded Group provides total capability in the early construction phases of major projects, offering an end-to-end solution or a bespoke selection of services. Backed by a central technical design and engineering resource, we deliver a full range of piling, precast concrete, post-tensioning, and structural techniques.
The Health & Safety professional will lead and manage health and safety delivery within Expanded and measure Health & Safety performance against strategic deliverables.
What will the role look like?
- Provide local advice and support to assist managers and staff in fulfilling their safety responsibilities to the high standards demanded by the business.
- Facilitate and coach operational teams on Inclusion & Wellbeing and the respective engagement tools, enabling effective workforce engagement.
- Carry out relevant Health & Safety assurance activities, providing confidence that operational effectiveness of all relevant processes is being delivered.
What skills & experience are we looking for?
- Qualification at level 5 (minimum)
- Experience working on civils infrastructure projects
- Technical knowledge in Occupational Health Risk Management and Wellbeing
- Technical knowledge in Safety Risk Management
- Coaching / Training competence
- Assurance / Audit / Investigation competence
- Member of a relevant professional body
