Reporting to the H&S Manager, the Health & Safety Co-ordinator, based in London, will be responsible for helping to promote and champion a positive Health & Safety culture at our plant and across our construction sites.

- Coordinate and complete health and safety inspections and audits at the assigned shop/plant and construction sites.
- Provide regular updates to manager on health and safety issues, inspections, and audits.
- Maintain and update safety documentation, including inspection checklists, hazard assessment forms, and preventative maintenance logs
- Support the delivery of toolbox talks, pre-shift inspections, and safety orientations by arranging logistics, materials, and attendance tracking
- Collaborate with operations teams to determine and implement corrective actions for identified hazards.
- Maintain and file records related to Health & Safety Improvement Plans (HSIP), COR certification requirements, and other compliance documents
- Assist with the collection of information for WSIB, Ministry of Labour, and other regulatory reporting; ensure all paperwork is complete and submitted on time
- Manage incident claims and oversee Early and Safe Return to Work Programs.
- Ensure that incident data is current and meets all internal and external reporting requirements.
- Participate in maintaining and updating the company Health & Safety management program.
- Organize, track, and facilitate required safety training for workers.
- Conduct safety orientations for new hires and annual refresher courses.
- Ensure employee training is up to date and maintain the training and skills matrix.
- Monitor company performance of H&S incident statistics and KPIs, identifying trends and providing recommendations to operations.
- Notify all relevant parties of H&S incidents, updates, and results from investigations or inspections.
- Help organize monthly Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings: prepare agendas, distribute minutes, and monitor action-item follow-up
- Participate in the development of safe work practices.
- Complete pre-qualification documents for Sales/Project Management Teams.
- Conduct monthly shop tours and audit H&S performance of assigned facilities.
- Provide ongoing support to the AGF Rebar H&S Team and users with training, troubleshooting, and implementation of Sitedocs H&S Software.
- Participate in H&S and Field Operations meetings and complete assigned action items.
- Support the H&S Team as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor.
- Diploma in health and safety or a related field (preferred)
- 1-3 years of experience in the construction or manufacturing industry
- Understanding of current Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and Regulations
- Ability to travel to construction sites in the region
- Proactive & dynamic attitude focused on delivering results
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to multitask and meet deadlines as required
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Applications (i.e., Word, Excel) and Google Suite
