Overview

The Governors of Shrewsbury Cathedral Catholic Primary School and Nursery, together with the Diocese of Shrewsbury and Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Academy Trust, are seeking to appoint an exceptional, faith-filled and ambitious Catholic leader to become our next Headteacher.

Situated in the heart of Shrewsbury and serving a wonderfully diverse community, our school is proud to be a place where every child is known, valued and loved. We are a warm, inclusive Catholic school where strong relationships, high aspirations and Gospel values shape everything we do.

Our school is built upon a strong ethos of caring, sharing and service. The Governors are looking for an inspirational Headteacher who will build upon our many strengths, nurture our distinctive Catholic character and lead our community confidently into the next stage of its journey.

Governing Board Criteria

The Governing Board are looking for a committed and practising Catholic who:

  • Has a proven track record of successful leadership and school improvement.
  • Understands the importance of strong partnerships between school, home, parish and community.
  • Is committed to inclusion and values the uniqueness of every child and family.
  • Promotes excellence in teaching, learning and personal development.
  • Has the strategic leadership skills necessary to lead staff, resources and finances effectively.
  • Can inspire and develop others through coaching, empowerment and high expectations.
  • Will actively contribute to the leadership and collaboration opportunities within Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Academy Trust.
