Job Description

Oakwood is an oversubscribed, inclusive 11-16 community school serving Horley and surrounding areas, with just under 1610 students on roll. The school has continued to improve under the effective leadership of our current Headteacher who is retiring at the end of the academic year.

Governors seek to appoint an experienced, dynamic and charismatic leader with proven management and communication skills who will:

  • Ensure a sustained upwards trajectory of school improvement, embracing future challenges and driving the school on it's future journey towards exceptional outcomes
  • Develop further the culture of high aspiration, achievement and attainment and communicate a compelling vision for the future
  • Be an inspirational leader who motivates and develops both staff and students to achieve their full potential
  • Be committed to safeguarding and the welfare of all pupils, ensuring a caring and nurturing environment.
  • Work collaboratively to build upon and develop further the strong links with the parents, community, local schools and partnerships
  • Have the passion to continue to develop a learning environment that offers the best possible experiences and outcomes for all students and staff
