Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Surgeon seeking a fulfilling career opportunity? Sanctuary Personnel is excited to present a fantastic permanent Head Veterinary Surgeon position with one of the UK's largest veterinary retailers based in Hinckley.
The role is offering a salary of £70,000 per annum.
Working HoursThis is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, and a rota basis and there is no OOHs.
The teamYou will be working in a friendly team of 5 Vets, 5 Nurses, two student nurses and 2 Animal Care Assistants.
Responsibilities- If experienced, you will ideally be confident with all routine surgical and medical cases, an interest in orthopaedics would be advantageous but is not essential.
 - We have a high exotics caseload so ideally, looking for a Head Vet who has strong exotics experience.
 - Keen to take on a supportive role and demonstrate key skills including building strong relationships with clients, patients, and the wider team.
 - Manage a team of 5 vets - supporting the vets clinically and managing the team in the daily running of the practice.
 
- Bank holiday rota is shared equally 3/4 per year
 - Salary starts at £70,000 depending on experience
 - Salary for an experienced vet in dependant on experience - this can be discussed on interview
 - 4.6 weeks annual holiday, raising to 5.6weeks after 2 year service, birthday off
 - £1,500 CPD allowance - CPD is encouraged
 - No sole charge or out of hours
 - Large exotic case load - increasing steadily as only local exotic vets
 - Exotic equipment on site
 - Vet undertaking Exotic Certificate currently
 - 35% discount on veterinary fees
 - Close to the motorway and 30-45 mins from two airports
 - An hour drive to natural beauty spots such as Peak District
 - Midlands based - easily accessible to major cities like Nottingham, Manchester and London. Located close by to the train station.
 
- Degree in Veterinary Medicine from a recognised university.
 - Membership in the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
 - Previous experience as a veterinary surgeon is highly desirable.
 - Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
 - Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary best practices and medical regulations.
 - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with clients and their pets.
 - Ability to handle a variety of animals safely and effectively.
 - Willingness to continually upgrade knowledge and skills in veterinary medicine.
