Job Description
Job Title: Head of Transition and Projects
We are looking for an experienced Head of Projects or Service Delivery to lead a growing business unit within a large public limited company. The role involves managing a team of project managers and technical consultants while implementing a service delivery methodology. You will collaborate across multiple stakeholders, maintain strong communication, and multitask to meet delivery deadlines in a fast paced, high profile environment.
Responsibilities- Lead the service delivery team in planning and delivering diverse internal and client projects.
- Build and maintain close working relationships with internal stakeholders across operations, IT, solution design, and senior management, as well as with external client delivery teams.
- Serve as the face of both project delivery and transition services within the organisation and be the senior point of contact for all matters relating to the transition of service streams and escalation of project issues.
- Develop and implement a customer service focused project management methodology.
- Practical and theoretical understanding of project management best practice.
- Professional qualifications: Prince2 and MSP.
- Degree level education.
- Superb planning and organisational skills.
- Experience driving continuous improvement and optimal processes.
- Commercial background required.
- Ability to adapt and tailor approach to projects ranging from £100K to £15M.
- Experience working in business process outsourcing, business services, or customer communication management services is highly advantageous.
- Previous experience managing and developing a team of project managers.
- Minimum five years of experience leading service delivery and complex commercial projects.
- Experience establishing a new PMO is advantageous.
- Calm under pressure with a practical, "can do" approach.
- Hands on attitude; leads by example.
- Ability to identify opportunities within the business when faced with commercial challenges.
- Dynamic, results driven and capable of inspiring and motivating at all levels.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and strong written skills.
