Head of Talent & Succession

As our Head of Talent and Succession, you will lead the design and delivery of Biffa's talent, management and leadership development strategy. You will play a critical role in ensuring we develop and retain exceptional people across all areas of the business. This is a strategic and influential role with the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the capability and culture of Biffa.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a forward-thinking talent and leadership strategy aligned to Biffa's business goals and values.
• Lead talent identification and succession planning processes across the organisation.
• Build and embed robust learning and development programmes that promote continuous growth and career progression.
• Ensure all talent initiatives are inclusive and develop internal talent
• Partner with business leaders to identify skills gaps and develop targeted capability-building plans.
• Manage the Learning & Development budget to ensure efficient spending and clearly identify the return on investment (ROI) for all expenditures.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing Talent & Development team.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience in a senior talent or learning leadership role, ideally within a large, complex or operationally diverse organisation.
• Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate vision into impactful programmes.
• Demonstrated success in leadership development, succession planning, and building high-potential pipelines.
• A passion for people development and a track record of creating inclusive learning cultures.
• Experience in evaluating data and learning KPIs to ensure all interventions provide value and align with business strategy and key priorities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at executive level.
• Commercial acumen and an understanding of how talent strategy supports business growth and transformation.
• Experience with digital learning platforms and modern learning methodologies is a plus.
