Head of Signalling Rail Systems

Salary: £80,000-£100,000 per annum

Location: Birmingham (UK-wide travel to sites including Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Derby)

Role Details

Join a leading railway contractor's light rail division and lead the rail systems team in delivering multi-million-pound infrastructure projects across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of signalling and other rail communications systems on light rail.
• Manage a team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight.
• Liaise with Network Rail, clients, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant standards, safety regulations, and quality procedures.
• Support tendering, planning, and resource allocation for upcoming projects.
• Identify and mitigate risks across technical, commercial, and operational aspects of projects.

Essential Experience

• Acted within a Senior / Lead role acting as a Head of Rail Systems or equivalent position on Network Rail Infrastructure.
• Background within signalling systems.
