Job Description

The Role

As Head of Science, you will:

  • Lead and manage the Science department across KS3-KS5
  • Drive teaching & learning standards in line with a progressive, values-led vision
  • Mentor, develop and inspire staff at all career stages
  • Ensure the curriculum reflects high academic ambition and rich scientific exploration
  • Oversee assessment, progress tracking, and departmental improvement planning
  • Play a key role in whole-school leadership and strategy

Requirements

To be considered, you must have:

  • QTS (100% required)
  • Substantial secondary Science teaching experience
  • A strong record of departmental or whole-school leadership
  • Proven impact on outcomes, standards, and team development
  • The ability to champion high expectations while nurturing a collaborative culture
