Head of School: Supported Learning

Location: Hayes

Salary: £53,656 to £60,082 per annum

Start date: April

About Us

We are a well-known and respected college located in The West London borough of Hillingdon. And we are looking for a head of school (supported learning). We have a new centre opening in the spring of 2026. Our facility will provide a welcoming, inclusive environment for over 60 students with special educational needs, including those with severe learning difficulties (SLD).

This state-of-the-art facility will feature:

  • Modern, accessible classrooms equipped with the latest technology

  • On-site therapies and medical services

  • Multi-disciplinary teams, including Speech and Language Therapy and Physiotherapy

  • A sensory room, calm cave, and comprehensive care facilities

  • A secure outdoor sensory garden

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to head our School of Supported Learning. You will drive excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment across SEND and High Needs provision, ensuring outstanding outcomes for learners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic and operational leadership to curriculum and support teams

  • Designing and delivering inclusive, high-quality programmes for learners with mild to complex needs

  • Promoting best practice in academic and pastoral support

  • Leading curriculum development aligned with national SEND priorities and local skills needs

  • Achieving agreed income and quality targets to support sustainable growth

As a Head of School: Supported Learning, you will have a safeguarding responsibility if appointed. The successful Head of School: Supported Learning candidate will be subject to enhanced clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and employment will be subject to references. This Head of School: Supported Learning, post is not exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
