Job Description

Reporting to the Managing Director - Commercial. This role aims to achieve profitable sales growth through the development and management of our key strategic customers, who are predominantly classified within the 'industrial and processing' sector classification.

This may include those trading both on a 'direct' and 'indirect' arrangement.

Principally, but not exclusively, this role is focused toward MEDITE customers, with the reach of this role ultimately, being across all our regional territories. This may vary from time-to-time.

Establishing positive relationships, detailed business understanding, and progressive sales plans are an essential component of this role. The wider trading, territory and business development roles will support, and are complementary to, activities in this area.

This is a critical role in helping to deliver the company's core proposition of 'relevance', as well as personifying the strategic elements of: focus; scale; intimacy & innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adopt and encourage safe practices through all activities.
  • Develop important and embedded relationships with nominated customers.
  • Engage with all other function/regional sales to deliver connected understanding of business opportunities and alignment.
  • Input into MS budgeting, forecasting and planning process.
  • Seek support from extended sales functions as necessary.
  • Provide market insight to support wider decision making.
  • Utilise our CRM support tools to ensure the accurate and timely sharing of relevant information and opportunities.
  • Contribute positively to the identification and implementation of new product introductions.
  • Support the value-added strategy of the business.
  • Actively contribute to the creation of marketing communication programmes.
  • Provide product training and product presentations as necessary.
  • Provide technical information /assistance to distributors and their clients.
  • Support other business initiatives as requested.
Typical Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience of working in a 'key account' function with primary responsibility.
  • Engaging, gregarious and optimistic character.
  • Possesses natural leadership qualities.
  • Adopts a 'data led' & structured approach.
  • Enjoys working within a 'framework' as opposed to strict guidance.
  • Excellent numerical skills with financial acumen.
  • A strategic thinker, one who sees the big picture.
  • Focussed on outcomes with a passion for results,
  • Demonstrable account planning and demand forecasting.
  • Ability to take ownership of projects / initiatives and manage development and delivery either individually or in team environments.
  • Embraces a collaborative approach.
  • A self-starting and highly motivated individual.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalence.
