Head of Risk

• Safeguard company assets and reputation by identifying and mitigating risks across the business
• Foster a risk-aware culture and provide expertise on emerging risks
• Propose and implement a tailored risk strategy
• Identify and prioritise operational, financial, regulatory, strategic, and emerging risks
• Prepare and present risk reports to department heads, senior management, and the Board
• Lead and develop the risk management team
• Lead enterprise-wide risk reporting, triaging emerging issues and escalating them to leadership
• Lead placement and management of UK corporate insurance programmes
• Negotiate with insurers to secure favourable terms
• Oversee the end-to-end claims process, focusing on Errors & Omissions (E&O)
• Continuously improve and evolve the risk management framework in line with long-term objectives

Requirements

• Expertise in risk management frameworks and methodologies
• Deep understanding of industry best practices
• Strong understanding of the business model and operations of a regulated financial services business, preferably in the insurance market
• Deep knowledge of UK regulations and insurance principles
• Eligible to hold an FCA Certified Manager role
• Significant leadership experience motivating teams and implementing effective risk strategies from the ground up
• Ability to build strong relationships and influence senior stakeholders
• Highly analytical and technically literate, with ability to use data and software to identify emerging trends
• Resilience, ethical judgment, calmness under pressure, and objectivity
• Role may be subject to FCA regulations, including enhanced checks and referencing
