Head of Reserving - non-life

Our client, a leading global reinsurance business, is seeking a Head of Reserving to join its Dublin-based actuarial function.

This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for reserving across a large and complex international short-tail portfolio, with close engagement across actuarial, underwriting, finance and senior leadership teams.

The role will suit an experienced actuary who enjoys operating in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and influencing decision-making at a senior level.

The role

• Lead reserving oversight across multiple short-tail lines of business
• Deliver quarterly reserving analysis, performance insights and reporting outputs
• Analyse and communicate key drivers of reserve movements, including large losses and catastrophe activity
• Oversee methodologies, assumptions and governance within the reserving framework
• Partner with underwriting and finance teams to support business planning and portfolio strategy
• Manage, mentor and develop a high-performing actuarial team

About you

• Qualified Actuary with significant experience in non-life reserving
• Strong understanding of short-tail lines and financial reporting requirements
• Proven ability to manage stakeholders across actuarial, underwriting and finance functions
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex insights clearly
• Experience working in a global or matrixed environment is advantageous
