Head of Research and Development

Our client, a leading global life reinsurance business, is seeking a Head of Research and Development to lead its Dublin-based R&D function, supporting life reinsurance pricing and innovation across EMEA and APAC.

This is a senior leadership role with significant strategic influence and responsibility for actuarial basis development, model innovation and technical thought leadership across a growing international reinsurance platform. The role will shape best practice in pricing methodologies, support complex new business opportunities and play a key part in driving the long-term technical strategy of the organisation.

• Lead and develop the Dublin Research & Development team
• Own and evolve pricing bases for longevity, mortality and morbidity risks
• Drive actuarial model development to support new business activity
• Provide expert input into pricing and underwriting of complex transactions
• Act as central owner of repeat-use pricing models across EMEA & APAC
• Represent the business as a thought leader with clients and industry stakeholders

• Qualified actuary with strong post-qualification experience
• Proven leadership experience within life assurance or reinsurance
• Deep technical expertise in actuarial basis setting and model development
• Expert knowledge of mortality, longevity and morbidity trends
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
• International reinsurance experience highly desirable
