Job Description
- Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimise stock availability and minimise waste.
- Analyse sales data and customer trends to inform future planning and product selection.
- Collaborate with buyers, suppliers, and other teams to ensure smooth product flow.
- Lead and mentor the merchandising team to achieve department goals.
- Prepare detailed financial forecasts and budgets for merchandise planning.
- Ensure alignment of merchandising activities with the overall retail strategy.
- Identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Head of Merchandising should have:
- Proven experience in merchandising within the retail industry, particularly in beauty or fragrance. Fashion experience would also be applicable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales and inventory data.
- Expertise in forecasting, planning, and inventory management.
- Leadership abilities to guide and motivate a team effectively.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with stakeholders.
- A results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving business objectives.
