Head of Membership & Events (12 Month FTC)
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000
Location: London / Hybrid
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Membership Bespoke is delighted to be recruiting for a Head of Membership & Events on a 12-month fixed term contract within a leading membership body (medical).

This is a pivotal leadership role, combining strategic oversight with hands-on delivery. You will be responsible for shaping and implementing membership strategy, ensuring an exceptional member experience, and driving growth through high-level relationship building across the healthcare sector.

About the role

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will:

• Develop and deliver a membership acquisition and retention strategy, ensuring sustainable growth.
• Lead on member engagement, acting as the voice of the member and ensuring their needs drive decision-making.
• Oversee and deliver an exciting events programme, from webinars to conferences, that educates, connects, and inspires.
• Build strategic relationships with key healthcare stakeholders - including Royal Medical Colleges, private hospitals, corporate partners, and higher education institutions - to raise profile and create effective recruitment pathways.
• Take ownership of the membership budget, governance reporting, and CRM data integrity.
• Provide strong team leadership, inspiring and managing colleagues to achieve both individual and organisational goals.

About you

We're looking for someone who is both strategic and member-focused:

• Proven experience in a healthcare membership organisation or working extensively with medical membership communities.
• A strong track record in growing, retaining, and engaging membership bases.
• Skilled at building relationships and influencing senior stakeholders across the healthcare sector.
• Confident in designing and delivering impactful events that add real value to members.
• Commercially aware, with experience in budget management and reporting at board level.
• A natural communicator with charisma, confidence, and a "can-do" approach.
