Job Description
The Manager oversees the daily operations of the internal machining department, ensuring efficient production, compliance with quality and safety standards, as well as resource management. This position involves production planning and the implementation of processes to meet the department's objectives. Additionally, the role includes responsibility for the Apprenticeship Center, with direct accountability for the entire program at 100% rate. The position requires a Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, and proven experience in team management. Strong knowledge of various equipment, leadership capabilities, and the ability to effectively mentor a team are essential. Proficiency in the Microsoft suite (Excel, Access, Word, Visio, PowerPoint) is required. A very good understanding of continuous improvement tools and methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC preferred) is desired. Knowledge of SAP is a significant advantage. The ability to rally and motivate both direct and indirect cross-functional teams is important. Excellent skills in detail orientation and strong problem-solving capabilities are necessary. Languages: French and English; another language is a plus. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to monitor performance and make necessary adjustments and support teams on new processes and opportunities while maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the main departmental processes.
