Location: Droitwich, Worcestershire
Salary: £DOE
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 4:30pm, Friday 8:00pm to 2:00pm

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Manufacturing, Manufacturing Manager, Plant Manager or Operations Leader to join a leading engineering and manufacturing business.

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will lead a team of 4 direct reports and approximately 80 indirect reports, driving operational excellence across a complex manufacturing environment. You'll be responsible for safety, quality, productivity, delivery and cost performance whilst developing a high-performing culture across your area of responsibility.

The business is entering an exciting period of growth, with significant investment being made across the site, increased capital expenditure programmes and plans for the development of a new manufacturing facility. This is a highly visible leadership role offering the opportunity to play a key part in that growth journey.

In addition, the position is viewed as a natural development route towards Operations Director level for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop manufacturing teams to deliver operational excellence
• Drive improvements in safety, quality, productivity, OTIF and efficiency
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Optimise production processes, capacity and resource utilisation
• Work closely with Engineering, Quality and Maintenance teams to achieve business objectives
• Manage budgets, cost reduction programmes and operational performance
• Provide strong leadership, maintain good employee relations and lead the teams to take them to an autonomous environment.
• Support site strategy, business planning and capital investment projects

Requirements

• Proven senior manufacturing leadership experience within engineering, aerospace, foundry, metals, investment casting or similar industrial environments
• Strong track record of leading (and building) operational teams
• Experience driving continuous improvement and performance-led cultures
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma or World Class Manufacturing
• Strong commercial awareness and leadership capability
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Degree qualified in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business or a related discipline desirable
