Head Of Maintenance- Food Manufacturing

Matrix Recruitment is recruiting for a Head of Maintenance on behalf of our client in the County Kildare area.

Permanent role On-site Senior Leadership

Your new role

This is a key leadership role within a well-established, high-volume manufacturing site. You'll lead a large maintenance team, drive major site upgrades, and play a central role in improving plant performance, reliability, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a large maintenance team, driving performance and development, identify skills gaps
• Ensure maximum uptime & reliability across all plant & equipment
• Deliver major capital projects (equipment upgrades, new installations, automation)
• Manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost control & efficiency
• Drive continuous improvement & Lean initiatives across the site
• Ensure full compliance with GMP, HACCP, ISO & safety standards
• Work closely with Operations, Engineering, & senior leadership to support site growth

What You Need:

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or similar)
• 10+ years' experience in maintenance/engineering within Food/FMCG or pharma manufacturing, highly automated/fast paced environment
• Proven experience managing large teams 20+
• Strong track record delivering CapEx projects and site improvements
• Experience with budgets, KPIs, and performance management
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
