Head of Maintenance - Care Home

As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you will be responsible for ensuring a clean and well-maintained environment for residents and staff. Your role will involve a variety of tasks, from fixing leaky taps to gardening and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. You will need hands-on maintenance experience, at least one trade skill, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
OverviewOverview of the role includes maintaining the care home building and grounds, and liaising with contractors on work outside the team's expertise to keep the environment safe and welcoming for residents and staff.
Main dutiesYou can expect plenty of variety as a Head of Maintenance. You'll work on all sorts of tasks within the care home and gardens, including basic repairs and seasonal planting. You should be comfortable working alone, leading a team and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning.

With hands-on experience of property maintenance, you should have at least one trade skill and ideally a proven ability to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks. You should be reliable and flexible regarding working hours. A full UK driving licence, IT literacy and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) are required.

Person Specification Qualifications- Hands-on property maintenance experience with at least one trade skill; ability to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks; reliable and flexible working hours; full UK driving licence; IT literacy; GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).
