We are pleased to offer this fantastic internal opportunity for a qualified and experienced L&D professional to take a key leadership role within our People team as Head of Learning and Development.

The role

The Head of Learning and Development will lead the L&D Strategy to support business performance, colleague development, and future capability needs, ensuring all learning initiatives are aligned with business priorities and enable a culture of continuous improvement.

Leading your team from the front, this role will be focused on driving a culture where learning is woven into the fabric of the business and colleagues at every level feel supported, inspired and empowered to realise their potential and contribute meaningfully to our shared goals.

You will also contribute to the development and implementation of the People strategy, collaborating closely with peers within the wider People team and leaders across the business to deliver continuous improvement and positive change that enhances the colleague experience and supports the achievement of Succession's purpose, vision and values.

Skills and experience we're looking for
  • Recent proven experience of leading L&D in a regulated environment, with extensive and demonstrable experience of designing and delivering impactful learning solutions.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to positively influence others and tailor your communication style across all organisational levels.
  • Self-motivation and adaptability to ever-changing demands. We need someone who is comfortable with ambiguity and possesses strong planning and organisational skills to ensure effective alignment with changing business priorities.
  • Experience working successfully in a growing organisation with a matrixed and complex environment.
  • A passion for the role, resilience, collaboration, and proactivity, coupled with a drive to bring about positive change, are essential qualities.
To be successful in the role it would be beneficial if you
  • Are educated to degree level with a Professional qualification in L&D or related field (CIPD Level 7 highly desirable)
  • Have a sound understanding of FCA Regulated environments.
  • Are an experienced people manager with strong coaching and performance management skills.
  • Will adopt a confident and engaging communication style with strong presentation skills.

  • Salary - Competitive (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
