A fast-growing global software provider is searching for a Head of IT Operations & Infrastructure to lead and expand its cloud, data centre, and internal IT environments. This is a newly created senior leadership role, managing a team of 10 engineers across the UK and internationally, and shaping an infrastructure function that supports major enterprise customers worldwide.

The Opportunity

You'll own the design, operation, and continuous improvement of all IT infrastructure-spanning cloud platforms (AWS & Azure), UK data centres, internal networks, and PCI-compliant environments. You'll also drive global scalability, resilience, and security as the business continues its international expansion.

Reporting to the Technical Director, you'll collaborate closely with technical, delivery and support teams, acting as a senior escalation point and setting the long-term infrastructure strategy.

What You'll Do

• Lead and develop the Infrastructure & IT Operations teams across multiple regions

• Oversee cloud environments, UK data centres, internal systems, and critical payment infrastructure

• Drive BAU operations including incident, problem, and change management

• Act as the escalation point for critical infrastructure issues

• Ensure security, compliance, and disaster recovery processes are robust and maintained

• Coordinate projects and ensure smooth delivery of infrastructure for new and existing services

• Build strong relationships across technical teams, clients, and partners

• Shape cloud strategy, cost optimisation, and continuous improvement across AWS & Azure

What You'll Bring

• 10+ years in IT operations, infrastructure, or networking roles

• Proven leadership of technical teams and customer-facing environments

• Strong experience with AWS, Azure, data centre technologies, networks, Linux/Windows

• Comfort operating at senior level-strong communicator, problem-solver, and decision-maker

• Knowledge of standards such as ISO 27001, PCI DSS, P2PE

• Experience supporting complex enterprise applications (retail sector experience is advantageous)

• Ability to manage competing priorities, mentor teams, and influence stakeholders
