Job Description

Job Title: Head of IT (3 months interim contract)

Location: Midlands/Droitwich

Job Type: Interim Contract

Salary: Competitive Day Rate

Role Overview

The Head of IT will lead the design, implementation, and management of the company's IT infrastructure, applications, and digital services. This role encompasses enterprise IT operations, cybersecurity, business applications (including Salesforce), end-user support, and overall IT governance. As a key member of the leadership team, the Head of IT ensures robust, secure, and scalable systems that support our commercial operations, service delivery, and strategic goals.

Responsibilities will include

IT Strategy & Governance, Enterprise Applications & Business Systems, Cybersecurity & Compliance, IT Operations & Infrastructure, Helpdesk & User Support, Leadership & Team Development.

Skills required

Technical knowledge - strong technical knowledge across IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, SaaS/PaaS systems, and business applications.

Planning & Organising - excellent planning and organisational skills, resilient with the ability to successfully manage conflicting priorities.

Communication - excellent communicator who can communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. You should be able to articulate our vision, ideas, and plans to a range of internal stakeholders

Project Management - advanced project management skills

Quality - Create a culture which embraces high quality customer service across the organisation, ensuring that management systems and processes drive service delivery outcomes

Analytical thinking - advanced planning and analysis skills

Leadership & Performance - ability to build and lead high performance teams ensure performance development frameworks are in place to manage colleague performance, drive development of organisational capability and undertake succession

Relationship Management - outstanding relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire at all levels.

Essential criteria

  • Certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISSP, Salesforce Admin/Architect) preferred.
  • 8+ years of IT leadership experience, ideally within telecom, infrastructure, or technology-driven organisations.
  • Proven experience managing Salesforce platforms and business-critical applications.
