Your mission is to ensure that grants are deployed to the most impactful projects, empowering the most effective advocates and organisations across the globe to transform the global food system. You will lead the evolution of the ProVeg grants programme into a world-class food systems regranting platform.

Responsibilities 1. Strategic Redesign & Systems Architecture
  • Redesign and Scaling:Lead the comprehensive evaluation and redesign of the global grants strategy, focusing on scalability via partners and experts, transparency, and maximum impact.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making:Integrate rigorous Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) frameworks to ensure we are funding the most effective interventions.
2. Leadership & People Operations
  • Lead a Global Team & Drive Partnerships:Manage and mentor a small and diverse team that includes intervention experts while fostering grant-making partnerships that create a culture of high performance and operational excellence.
  • Thought Partner:Work with the ProVeg and Kickstarting for Good (K4G) team to set the strategic direction of the grants program
  • Regional Integration:Collaborate with members and partners of ProVeg globally to ensure the grants program is globally consistent yet locally relevant.
  • Internal Advocacy:Serve as the primary internal voice for the grants program, aligning its goals with the broader mission of creating a plant-rich food system.
3. Operational Excellence
  • End-to-End Oversight:Manage the full lifecycle of the grant-giving process-from outreach and application to vetting, distribution, and reporting.
  • Risk & Compliance:Ensure that our grantmaking remains compliant with international regulations and that financial stewardship is beyond reproach.
4. Strategic Development
  • Funder Relations:Partner with ProVeg and K4G leadership to represent the grants program to institutional donors, showcasing the impact of our funding model.
  • Movement Synergy:Represent ProVeg within the philanthropic community to identify collaboration opportunities with other major funders in the alt-protein and animal advocacy space.
Role Requirements
  • Program Architecture & Scaling:Demonstrated experience (re)designing or scaling a grantmaking, regranting, or funding programme with multiple stakeholders, partners, or intermediaries, including clear decision-making criteria and governance structures.
  • Impact & MEL Expertise:Proven ability to design and apply Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) frameworks to guide funding decisions, assess intervention effectiveness, and iterate strategy based on evidence and data.
  • Senior People Leadership:At least 7-10 years of professional experience in relevant roles, including direct management of high-performing, geographically distributed and culturally diverse teams.
  • Strategic Thought Partnership:Experience acting as a senior thought partner to executive leadership, contributing to organisational strategy and translating high-level goals into operational funding priorities.
  • Cross-Regional Collaboration:Track record of working effectively across regions and organisations to balance global consistency with local context, needs, and expertise.
  • Internal Advocacy & Alignment:Ability to represent a programme internally, build alignment across departments, and clearly articulate how grantmaking supports broader organisational and mission goals.
  • End-to-End Grant Operations:Hands-on experience overseeing the full grant lifecycle, including outreach, application design, due diligence, selection, contracting, fund disbursement, and grantee reporting.
  • Compliance & Financial Stewardship:Strong understanding of nonprofit grant compliance, risk management, and financial controls across jurisdictions, with experience ensuring robust accountability and audit readiness.
  • Donor & Funder Relations:Experience engaging institutional donors or philanthropic partners, including presenting funding strategies, reporting on impact, and supporting fundraising or donor stewardship efforts.
  • Field-Level Collaboration:Established networks or demonstrated ability to engage credibly with philanthropic actors, funders, and organisations in food systems transformation, alternative proteins, animal advocacy, or adjacent social impact fields.
