Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the business objectives

  • Act as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), contributing to strategic decisions and business planning.

  • Foster a high-performance finance culture grounded in compliance and continuous improvement.

  • Build strategic partnerships with internal departments and external stakeholders to drive business growth.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance Management

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasts

  • Design and implement financial models to support strategic planning and resource allocation.

  • Monitor financial KPIs and perform variance analysis to inform leadership decisions.

  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses to support project evaluations and commercial initiatives.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare accurate, timely, and insightful financial reports for senior management.

  • Ensure reporting aligns with both internal standards and external regulatory requirements.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and financial stability.

  • Oversee cash pooling, intercompany loans, and repayments within Group Treasury frameworks.

  • Act as authorized bank signatory for payments in the region.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure full compliance with IFRS, local financial regulations (e.g. in Qatar), and group internal policies.

  • Liaise with tax advisors and group functions to optimize tax structures and ensure fiscal compliance.

Audit & Control

  • Serve as the key contact for internal and external audits

  • Ensure documentation and audit responses are accurate and timely

  • Implement and maintain financial controls and compliance procedures.

Regional Expansion & Project Management

  • Lead financial and operational aspects of expansion projects, including the establishment of new legal entities or branches (e.g., Qatar Branch).

  • Manage multidisciplinary projects covering legal, tax, compliance, procurement, budgeting, and banking.

  • Act as project lead in coordination with multiple RELX teams.

Financial Systems & Process Improvement

  • Oversee the implementation and optimization of financial systems and processes for accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

  • Drive AI and process transformation initiatives where appropriate.

Training & Stakeholder Support

  • Provide financial training and support to non-financial managers across the region.

  • Empower stakeholders with data-driven insights to enhance financial understanding and decision-making.

Compensation & Governance

  • Approve salary increases, hiring, and incentive programs (e.g. SIP) for relevant business units

  • Ensure compensation practices align with budget and policy.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (MBA or equivalent preferred)

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in financial leadership roles, ideally in multinational B2B or SaaS environments

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax compliance, and regional regulatory frameworks (especially GCC)

  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling

  • Experience leading audits and cross-functional projects, including entity setup

  • Excellent command of English (French and/or Arabic is a plus)
