Head of Finance (3 Month Contract)

Overview

Our client, a well-established Irish business with a strong European presence, is seeking an interim Head of Finance to support a critical growth phase at their Oranmore, Co. Galway site. Operating across crop protection, veterinary, amenity and garden care sectors, the business is backed by significant investment and a clear strategic plan.

This is a hands-on, high-impact contract role focused on financial leadership, governance, and strategic support during a period of change.

Role Overview

Reporting to the CEO and Board, the Head of Finance will lead core finance activities, ensuring robust reporting, compliance, and commercial insight. The role will stabilise and strengthen the finance function while supporting key strategic and operational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and monthly management reporting
• Ensure audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and strong financial controls
• Provide clear financial insight to the Board and senior leadership
• Partner with Operations and Commercial teams on performance analysis and investment decisions
• Support capital projects, funding initiatives, and M&A-related activity as required
• Drive targeted improvements across finance processes and systems

Key Requirements

• Senior finance leadership experience with strong governance and reporting expertise
• Proven ability to operate at Board level and influence senior stakeholders
• Strong analytical and commercial mindset
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP desirable)
• Ability to deliver quickly in a contract/interim environment

Contract Details

• 3-month fixed-term contract
• Competitive daily or monthly rate, commensurate with experience
• Based in Oranmore, Co. Galway (hybrid potential depending on needs)
