Head of Field Operations

Red Chair Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Head of Field Operations on behalf of a well-established home improvement supply and installation company based in Tralee, Co. Kerry. This senior leadership position will take full responsibility for managing technical operations, including surveying, specification, installation quality, compliance, and ongoing process improvement.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high technical standards, streamlined processes, and consistent, high-quality delivery across all projects and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary technical team, including surveyors and estimators
• Establish, implement, and continuously refine technical standards, procedures, and best practicesOversee site surveys, technical assessments, and project evaluations
• Ensure the accuracy and quality of specifications, scopes of work, and cost estimates
• Drive quality assurance processes, including post-installation inspections and reviews
• Manage technical risk, ensuring full compliance with industry regulations and standards
• Collaborate closely with design, operations, and installation teams to ensure seamless project delivery
• Provide senior technical input on complex or high-value projects
• Identify and implement process improvements, including the adoption of digital tools and systems
• Assess training needs and lead ongoing technical development initiatives
• Ensure adherence to health and safety standards across all technical activities
• Act as a senior technical advisor to internal stakeholders and key clients

Skills & Experience

• 3+ years in a senior leadership position in installations services, heating systems, or related trades.
• Background in plumbing is essential.
• Strong knowledge of surveying, specification, and estimating processes.
• Excellent organisational, strategic, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with compliance and technical standards.
