Tormead School is an academically selective independent school for 800 girls aged 4-18, located a short stroll from the historic town centre of Guildford, just 40 minutes by train to London. Students attain excellent examination results with 90% attaining grade A -B at A Level and 90% attaining a grade 7-9 at GCSE in 2025.
Responsibilities- Lead and inspire the English department across Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level.
- Manage and develop a team of teachers.
- Deliver high standards in the classroom and curriculum development.
- Support wider co-curricular activities.
- Engage with students, parents, colleagues and the wider community.
- Passionate advocate for English.
- Previous experience of managing a team.
- Firm grasp of curricular developments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work harmoniously with others.
