Job Description
Overview

Tormead School is an academically selective independent school for 800 girls aged 4-18, located a short stroll from the historic town centre of Guildford, just 40 minutes by train to London. Students attain excellent examination results with 90% attaining grade A -B at A Level and 90% attaining a grade 7-9 at GCSE in 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and inspire the English department across Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level.
  • Manage and develop a team of teachers.
  • Deliver high standards in the classroom and curriculum development.
  • Support wider co-curricular activities.
  • Engage with students, parents, colleagues and the wider community.
Qualifications
  • Passionate advocate for English.
  • Previous experience of managing a team.
  • Firm grasp of curricular developments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work harmoniously with others.
  • Imaginative, flexible and capable of inspiring and supporting students.
