Head of Engineering - REMOTE

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Head of Engineering. In this role, you will lead the design, build, and evolution of a cutting-edge healthcare technology platform. You will have the opportunity to directly shape how modern healthcare services are delivered while managing a small, high-impact engineering team. Your expertise will be crucial in architecting integrations with core healthcare systems and writing production grade code using AI assisted tools. You will also partner closely with cross functional teams to ensure technology improvements translate to enhanced patient care and clinical workflows.
Accountabilities- Architect and build core components of the healthcare services platform, including integrations with healthcare systems.
- Write production grade code while leveraging modern AI coding tools to maintain high quality.
- Make pragmatic architecture decisions balancing speed, scalability, security, and compliance.
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and strong data privacy/security practices.
- Monitor and optimize cloud spend, balancing performance and cost.
- Drive full engineering execution rhythm including planning and estimation.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation through effective processes.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with a hands on approach.
- Experience leading engineering teams in early to growth stage companies.
- Strong backend and systems experience with fluency in Flutter, React, and Java.
- Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure, especially AWS.
- Familiarity with automated testing and logging/monitoring tools.
- Comfort and enthusiasm for using AI assisted development tools.
- Experience in the digital health or healthcare services environments.
