We are seeking a Second in Charge, specialising in Mathematics to join our team at Jubilee High, part of the Bourne Education Trust.
The Second in Charge will be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils in the department, ensuring equity of opportunity for all, achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct. All teachers are required to carry out the professional duties and responsibilities of a schoolteacher as defined by the Teachers' Standards and set out in the current School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document.

Position: Second in Charge Mathematics
Contract: Permanent, full time
Start Date: 1 January 2026
Salary: Teachers Main to Upper Pay Scale (Fringe: £38,627 to £52,490 + TLR)

Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure excellent standards of teaching and learning across the subject
- Take responsibility for the strategic overview of the department, including self-evaluation and the improvement plan
- Monitor student progress and implement strategic intervention for the department
- Develop the curriculum, schemes of work and assessment across all key stages
- Deliver the curriculum as relevant to the age and ability of the classes you teach, preparing and developing teaching materials and pastoral arrangements as appropriate
Requirements include:
- Commitment to safeguarding children
- Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent)
- Evidence of effective continuous professional development
- Evidence of effective communication with a wide range of stakeholders
- Experience of teaching in relevant Key Stage and/or subject area
- Experience in coordinating a subject or phase
