Job Title: Head of Delivery

Reports to: Chief Technology Officer

Direct Reports: 3x Senior, 1x Delivery Manager

Location - UK applicants only

What We're Looking For:

We're seeking a leader to elevate how Kooth delivers value - strengthening collaboration, improving delivery practices, and ensuring our teams work efficiently and effectively across every project. You'll champion our delivery management capability, drive continuous improvement, and uphold our commitment to Medical Device compliance with rigor and care.

How You'll Make an Impact:

Leadership and Strategy

  • Drive the delivery of value quickly, smoothly, and more predictably, reducing risk and avoiding costly delays and hand-offs.
  • Lead and mentor a distributed team of Delivery Managers across the UK and US, building capability, supporting professional development, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Promote the continuous improvement of delivery practices and organisational processes, using data and metrics to identify and address issues that impede the smooth, fast flow of value delivery.
  • Establish and adopt meaningful delivery and performance indicators, ensuring metrics are relevant, actionable, and aligned with organisational goals.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities Kooth faces as it expands in the US and UK, and the role Delivery Management plays in meeting and exceeding those challenges.
  • Demonstrate strong collaboration across all disciplines and departments, leading your team to model the same behaviour.
  • Work closely with the VP of Engineering and Head of Data to lead the Technology team, representing and championing the team and its value across Kooth.
  • Support Kooth's remote-first product and engineering culture, and look for ways to deepen connection and belonging across distributed teams.

Hands on Delivery Management:

  • Coordinate the delivery of multiple products and services, ensuring progress is effectively communicated, work is transparent, and delivery is well understood across the organisation.
  • Lead a continual planning process in a fast-moving, complex environment, devising roadmaps and managing complex interdependencies across Kooth's departments and products.
  • Lead on Kooth's Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) delivery compliance, collaborating with product, engineering, and clinical teams to ensure processes meet regulatory requirements, are well understood, and operate effectively in practice.
  • Drive the health and sustainability of Kooth's product squads by creating an open, collaborative environment and using strong mediation skills to resolve conflicts.
  • Identify and challenge unnecessarily complicated organisational processes, coaching teams and departments to improve their ways of working.
  • Implement and support appropriate delivery methodologies, digital tools, and ways of working to empower distributed teams to deliver effectively.

Cross-functional Collaboration and Communication:

  • Partner with product, engineering, service delivery, and clinical teams to strengthen collaborative, iterative delivery of Kooth's products and services, ensuring they meet user and client needs.
  • Build consensus between Kooth's different functions and highly independent stakeholders, solving and unblocking issues at the highest level in a calm, collaborative manner.
  • Communicate roadmaps, plans, dependencies, risks, and mitigations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders - including clients, our board, and external audiences.
  • Create an environment where working in the open and communicating clearly becomes the default practice across the organisation.
  • Collaborate with and direct external suppliers and delivery partners alongside internal teams.
  • This role may involve occasional travel between the UK and the US.
What You'll Bring:
  • Experienced leader with a track record of leading complex programmes of product and service delivery through several multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Line management of delivery managers and team lead experience
  • Demonstrable experience of owning and driving the continuous improvement of delivery and reporting on meaningful delivery and performance indicators
  • Knowledge and experience of using a range of lean and agile delivery practices to deliver and iterate user-centred digital products and services
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to digital health or Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)
  • Understanding of user research, interaction and service design, product management, and software development practices (eg DevOps, CI/CD)
  • Significant demonstrable work experience of leading the delivery of complex programmes of work
  • Significant demonstrable work experience of leading multiple delivery managers, or an entire delivery management function
  • Significant demonstrable work experience of adopting and adapting practices from a range of lean and agile delivery methods
