Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement data strategies aligned with clinical development priorities and R&D goals.
- Lead clinical data teams across multiple concurrent studies from startup to database lock.
- Drive adoption of innovative digital solutions that enhance data flow, interoperability, and insight generation.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee design, implementation, and maintenance of robust data collection and validation processes.
- Ensure high-quality, analysis-ready data aligned with global standards (CDASH, SDTM, etc.).
- Maintain rigorous compliance with GCP, ICH, 21 CFR Part 11, and other relevant regulations.
- Implement risk-based quality management in data oversight and governance.
- Author and maintain SOPs and best practices for clinical data lifecycle management.
Digital Innovation & Optimization
- Spearhead the adoption of AI-driven technologies and automation in data management processes.
- Continuously monitor industry trends to introduce best-in-class data methodologies.
- Identify and implement opportunities for improved efficiency and cross-functional collaboration.
- Promote a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous learning across the data function.
Team Development & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and expand a high-performing data management team, fostering technical growth and operational excellence.
- Collaborate closely with Biostatistics, Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, and other internal stakeholders.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external partners, vendors, and regulatory agencies in all data-related matters.
- Manage departmental resources, timelines, vendor relationships, and performance metrics to ensure delivery excellence.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MSc, PhD, or equivalent) in Life Sciences, Data Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in clinical data management, including 5+ years in a leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated success in implementing digital strategies and overseeing global clinical data programs.
Technical & Leadership Skills
- Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and cross-functional project management.
- Deep understanding of clinical development workflows and global regulatory standards.
- Strong analytical mindset and decision-making capabilities using complex data sets.
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to engage internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage vendors, and deliver complex projects on time and budget.
