The Role:

As Head of Climate Justice, you will be responsible for OGB's influencing approach to climate justice across the UK. You will also be responsible for campaign and influencing strategy development as well as stakeholder and political risk management.

We're looking for a candidate who cares about Oxfam's mission to end poverty and is personally aligned to our feminist principles and values of empowerment, accountability and inclusion in all you do.

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:

  • Experience managing performance of others and helping people to develop, grow and achieve their potential. Increasing diversity and supporting a culture of inclusion in teams and / or workplaces.
  • A proven track record of leading successful influencing work, including the generation of original ideas and innovative approaches in leading initiatives, and experience with funding, campaigns, policy, influencing, programme, and coalition building.
  • Knowledge and experience of having worked on Climate Justice issues, possibly including work on a just transition, climate finance, climate adaptation programming.
  • Experience of successfully building key external relationships that aid the delivery of corporate and campaign objectives.
  • Experience of overseeing and managing team budgets.
  • Experience of representing and communicating an issue effectively externally in policy, influencing, lobbying and media work.
  • Experience of mobilising internal stakeholders around a vision for a major area of work and driving change within a large and complex globally networked confederation.
  • Experience in using research data and learnings for the development of campaigns, advocacy and/or policy.
  • Capacity to make complex information accessible and understandable to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven sound judgement in complex situations.
