Job Description
  • Senior leadership role, responsible for the strategic direction and operational excellence of the client accounting function, across a Commercial and Residential client base.
  • The position oversees a team of 14, including Senior Client Accountants and reports into the CFO.

Description

Leadership & Team Development

  • Manage and mentor a team of Client and Property accountants, including qualified and part qualified (up to 14)
  • Set objectives, monitor performance, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure professional growth and succession planning within the team.

Financial Strategy & Control

  • Advise the Board on financial planning, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Oversee preparation of statutory accounts, service charge budgets, and year-end reconciliations.
  • Implement robust financial controls and cost-saving initiatives.

Client Accounting & Compliance

  • Management of clients, acting as escalation point for complex service charge and lease-related queries.
  • Ensure Service Charge reconciliations are completed, timely and to high standard across the team.
  • Maintain accurate records and support audits.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Lead system upgrades and process automation (MRI Qube, Horizon).
  • Drive efficiency improvements and maintain data integrity.
  • Support integration of new technology to reduce manual tasks.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Present financial reports and KPIs to senior leadership and clients.
  • Chair meetings with leaseholders, consultants, and auditors.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Profile

  • Professional qualification: ACCA, CIMA or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in senior finance roles within property management, across commercial and residential.
  • Strong knowledge of property accounting principles, including service charge reconciliation, rent processing, and financial reporting.
  • Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in financial management systems, such as MRI, Horizon, Qube or similar property accounting platforms.
