About the Role

We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Head of Business to lead Drift Bridge Volkswagen, a key site within the Drift Bridge Group. This is a senior leadership position with full responsibility for the overall performance, profitability, and strategic direction of the dealership.

As Head of Business, you will play a critical role in driving commercial success while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and operational excellence across all departments. You will lead and inspire a high performing management team, uphold Volkswagen brand standards, and deliver a first class customer experience.

This role is ideal for an ambitious automotive leader with a proven track record of delivering results, developing teams, and successfully managing a franchised dealership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Leadership: Provide clear strategic direction and strong leadership across all departments, ensuring alignment with group and manufacturer objectives.
  • Financial Performance: Take full accountability for profit and loss, budgets, and financial controls, driving revenue growth and maximising profitability.
  • Sales & Aftersales Performance: Lead new and used vehicle sales as well as aftersales operations to achieve and exceed performance targets.
  • Customer Experience: Champion a customer first culture, ensuring exceptional service standards and continuous improvement in customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Operational Management: Oversee day to day dealership operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and adherence to Volkswagen standards and processes.
  • Team Development: Recruit, develop, and retain high performing managers and teams, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and progression.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with Volkswagen UK and internal group stakeholders.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, manufacturer, and company requirements.
Skills and Attributes
  • Proven Leadership Experience: Demonstrable success in a senior management role within the automotive retail sector, ideally as a Head of Business or General Manager.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong financial and operational understanding with a track record of delivering business growth and profitability.
  • People Leadership: Inspirational leader with the ability to motivate, develop, and manage high performing teams.
  • Customer Focus: Passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences and maintaining brand standards.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to analyse data, identify opportunities, and implement effective business strategies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Resilience & Drive: Results oriented with the ability to perform under pressure and lead through change.
