Job Description

The Academic Head oversees curriculum development, instructional strategies, assessment procedures, and staff development initiatives to ensure the academic success and holistic development of students.

Curriculum Development and Implementation:
  • Lead the design, review, and implementation of a comprehensive and rigorous curriculum that aligns with educational standards, school mission, and student needs.
  • Foster interdisciplinary connections and integrate innovative teaching methodologies, technologies, and educational resources into the curriculum.
  • Ensure coherence and continuity in curriculum delivery across all grade levels and subject areas.
Instructional Leadership:
  • Provide visionary leadership and support to faculty members in implementing effective instructional practices that promote student engagement, critical thinking, and academic growth.
  • Foster a culture of professional growth and collaboration among educators through mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
  • Conduct regular classroom observations, provide feedback, and facilitate reflective practices to enhance teaching effectiveness.
Assessment and Data Analysis:
  • Develop and implement assessment strategies to measure student progress, identify learning gaps, and inform instructional decision-making.
  • Analyze assessment data to track student achievement, monitor trends, and make data-driven adjustments to curriculum and instruction.
  • Ensure that assessment practices are fair, valid, and aligned with learning objectives and standards.
Student Support and Well being:
  • Collaborate with guidance counselors, special educators, and support staff to provide comprehensive student support services that address academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Implement programs and initiatives to promote student well being, positive behavior, and a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Respond to student concerns, academic challenges, and disciplinary issues with empathy, discretion, and appropriate interventions.
Strategic Planning and Administration:
  • Collaborate with the school leadership team to develop and implement strategic plans, goals, and policies that advance the school's mission and vision.
  • Manage academic budgets, resources, and facilities to support the delivery of high-quality education.
  • Ensure compliance with educational regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices in curriculum and instruction.

Education Required: Bachelor's Degree
