Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead Woolsery Fish & Chips. Our food ethos is local, foraged, fresh and sustainable. Everything is made in house or supplied by quality vendors who help to support our community. We have our own farm to supply fresh vegetables and meat, which includes UK rare heritage breeds such as Devon Large Black pigs, Grey Faced Dartmoor sheep, so burgers and sausages come from us.
You will manage all ordering, service and a small team. You will have the support of our Head Chef at The Farmers Arms, right next door, to collaborate on weekly specials and menu development.
You will need a minimum of 2 years' experience in a kitchen, with a strong management background. This position will be best filled by a leader with good communication skills.
Job Duties:
Running of service and stepping into any section as needed
Maintaining the very highest standards of food production, hygiene, cleanliness and following Health & Safety procedures. Supervision of cleaning schedules and checklists.
Work well in a team environment with the customers experience always being paramount
Have a good attitude, be open minded to new techniques, a different perspective and a willingness to learn in order to create something special
Ability to work full time, flexible hours within a 48 hour per week contract. Our aim is to have a work life balance, offering 4 days on/3 days off per week. The chip shop is open Wednesday through Saturday, so those would be your normal working days, from 9:30am to 9:30pm.
Passionate cook with a desire to produce the best quality food possible
Skill Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a commercial kitchen
Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
Ability to work with stock management and wage tracking programs

starting salary of up to £35,000 per year, DOE
