A modern, well equipped butcher counter in a flagship supermarket located just off the M7 in West Dublin offers an ideal opportunity for a skilled butcher based in Dublin or Kildare seeking a fresh challenge in a dynamic retail environment.

You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the department, from maintaining exceptional hygiene standards to driving sales and increasing customer footfall, shaping and growing your own department within a busy, high profile store.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cut various types of meat products, including beef, pork, poultry, and seafood, according to customer preferences and specifications.
• Ensure all meat products are of high quality, properly trimmed, and free from defects.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Assist customers with their meat selections and provide recommendations on cooking methods and recipes.
• Package and label meat products for display and sale.
• Maintain knowledge of current market trends and adjust product offerings accordingly.

Requirements

• Ideally a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a butcher in a retail or supermarket setting.
• Good knowledge of different cuts of meat and their preparation methods, controlling yield and waste.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift heavy objects.
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, but fair rotation of roster is in place.
