Job Description

We are looking for an innovative and solutions-driven individual with extensive experience in hazardous work environments. You will be people-focused, leading by example, coaching, and mentoring best practices.

Required skills and experience:

  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams to achieve strategic goals and growth ambitions
  • Experience creating and delivering business cases and presentations for investment purposes
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with senior leadership across Intertek
  • Experience working within a laboratory environment
  • Proven ability to project manage and deliver large-scale projects on time and within budget
  • Excellent communication skills - ability to influence and negotiate with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience dealing directly with customers and working on bids and tenders is an advantage

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

As the Hazardous Locations Testing Manager, you will strategize and execute our ambitions to provide world-class product testing and assurance, focusing on the exploration and production industry, food, pharma, feed, and manufacturing sectors.

Key activities:

  • Motivate and support the team in delivering strategic plans through inspirational leadership
  • Develop and implement a strategy for departmental growth, considering Capex and resource investment
  • Manage laboratory updates and expansion plans following successful business case submissions
  • Collaborate with other laboratory managers and stakeholders to promote our product assurance portfolio
  • Hold regular meetings with global colleagues to drive projects into our business
  • Work with the marketing team to create and deliver targeted market plans supporting strategic growth
  • Facilitate content creation leveraging the team's expertise for thought leadership activities
  • Participate in customer calls and meetings to promote our services and drive sales
  • Manage departmental profit and loss, forecasting and controlling costs in line with budgets and revenue
