Guitar Technician

The Guitar Technician is responsible for repairs of guitar issues from consumers. The role is a blend of craftsmanship, quality, and customer service and focuses on industry standards for repair and quality. A successful guitar technician completes a quality repair in the expected time and provides thoughtful service to the consumer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Main Duties

• Perform restrings and setups (Electric and Acoustic)
• Make and install new nuts
• Light electronic repairs
• Level and dress frets
• Package and ship guitars as needed
• Track time and material usages

Other duties

• Employee can be asked to perform other duties that are reasonable within the area of expertise.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES/EXPERIENCE

• Ability to improve upon repair quality and speed to industry standards
• Paint and lacquer experience a plus
• Direct consumer experience a plus (some interaction may be needed)
• Solutions oriented approach to challenges/issues
• Outstanding time management skill set with the ability to prioritize without direct supervision
• Experience with repairing stringed instruments
• Experience as a guitar repair operator preferred
• Paint and lacquer experience a plus

ESS ENTIAL KNOWLEDGE

• Fluent in English and regional language
• Guitar playing / knowledge is highly advantageous.
• General knowledge of guitar components
• Knowledge of Guitar makes and models.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

• This position is based in store but may require some local travel within London.
• Must be able to have a flexible schedule and work some evenings, weekends and holidays.
