Job Description
Group Manager Training & Development - Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service About the role

As a Training and DevelopmentManager, you will:

  • Lead the Service's development and competency training programmes, ensuring that the scheduling of all courses meet the individual, team and organisational needs to maintain operational and managerial competence
  • Review the course provision process to ensure it is robust and responds well to the operational and strategic planning needs of the service as well as local, regional and national priorities
  • Ensure BTDC and all associated learning material is modern, adheres to legal, regulatory, fire standards, and the quality assurance framework. Implement a strong governance process to monitor and report on competency levels within the service
  • Create a culture within BTDC where all NFRS staff feel supported, developed, managed and motivated to carry out their roles effectively. Wellbeing of staff is vitally important; mechanisms to monitor all members mental, health and wellbeing will be adhered to
  • Oversee the internal BTDC audit and assurance system to ensure all training and development is effective and efficient, identifying areas of improvement and ensuring action plans are developed
  • Adopt a positive approach to equality, diversity and Inclusion at work, ensuring all learning materials are accessible and appropriate for students. NFRS Cultural values will be exemplified by the TDM
  • Develop and implement a continuous review of health and safety at BTDC and procedures to provide a safe working environment for all attending personnel
  • Support Fire and Rescue leadership, exploring shared issues and common goals with the Eastern Region or comparable services

Applicants must be a currently serving substantive Station Manager or Group Manager within a UK Fire and Rescue Service
